Five For Friday (On Sunday)

This week has been cray cray! That’s why my Five For Friday post is really a Five for Sunday night post. :)
I made great headway in my classroom this week and was able to stick to my original goal of putting the finishing touches on my layout and sitting down to start planning my first weeks. I even had time to make all my copies for the first three days of school on the most amazing copy machine I have ever used (I love my new school)!

I got the back to school issue of Scholastic Instructor Magazine in the mail this week and did a happy dance in my kitchen when I flipped through and found my old classroom featured in the “Make Room For Reading” article on page 30. You can also see it {HERE}.  Associate Editor Catherine Logue emailed me last school year (right around the time I was packing up my classroom for the big move) and asked if I was interested in having my classroom library featured. I jumped at the opportunity and am so thrilled to see a picture of my “Secret Garden” library printed on that page!

Last week, I mentioned a classroom décor side project my husband dreamed up. I may have had one or two emotional breakdowns in the process of driving all over town to collect all the 3D paper mache letters required for this “little” project but it was all worth it in the end.

I ordered an Erin Condren planner back in July and it arrived this week. These are a hot ticket item right now in the teaching world so I had to do a little waiting, but it was SO worth it! I was literally so excited when it arrived that I couldn’t even bring myself to open it right away. The box it’s delivered in is pretty enough to stare at for a while. Most teachers seem to order the lesson planner but I ordered the life planner because I plan to use it for keeping track of my goals for blogging, my TPT store and Teacher Creator’s Toolbox.

Today, I went to the beach to enjoy the last moments of summer with my husband and my puppy love. I am so excited to head in to work tomorrow for our first official day of work before the kiddos arrive for their first day this Wednesday!
